What Happened AFTER the Wizarding War?: A Timeline of Events (1998-2023)

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we’ll be discussing a chronological timeline of events that transpired AFTER the defeat of Lord Voldemort.

As the final pages of the Harry Potter series drew to a close and the last credits rolled in the movie adaptations, fans of the magical world were left with a sense of bittersweet satisfaction. The defeat of Lord Voldemort marked the end of an era filled with danger, heroism, and surprising twists. However, it also marked the beginning of an uncharted chapter in wizarding world history.

The fall of Voldemort brought about a newfound freedom and a chance for healing. It signaled an opportunity for the wizarding community to rebuild and address the lingering scars of a war that had deeply impacted their lives.

Today, we’ll explore the significant events that unfolded in the greater wizarding world after the climactic Battle of Hogwarts and the conclusion of the series- navigating a detailed timeline that spans years, revealing the triumphs and challenges that shaped this transitional period.

Before we begin though, please note that this video will focus on a general timeline of events. This video will focus on larger events rather than dive too much in to the minutiae.

From the moment the dust settled on the Hogwarts grounds to the years that followed, we will unravel the threads of wizarding world history, witnessing how the world of magic pressed forward.

When Harry jumped out of Hagrid’s arms, I remember seeing a lot of death eaters flee and someone saying “come back” - so guessing there was probably a lot of clean up and hunting of death eaters after too by the Aurors

This is not canon, but it is what I think would happen for Hagrid.

Hagrid, post Wizarding War:
By decree signed by Prime Minister Shacklbolt and subsequently accepted by the governors of Hogwarts (who have changed up and now have members of either Order of the Phoenix or Dumbledore's Army or both) is allowed to attend Hogwarts classes at any time under the compassionate and strict, watchful eye of Headmistress McGonagall.

He is given the gift of a new wand. IMO, Unicorn Hair suits him best as a wand core because of his compassion and love of beasties and people alike.

As for the wood, I think either Alder or Chestnut—woods that JKR has indicated are often best for those who are masterful in caring for magical creatures, and Hagrid _is_ that.

If he has Alder, I think he'd grow tired and irritable about having to disabuse people from thinking it's an elder wand from mishearing it. So he ends up with a unicorn-hair-core paired with chestnut. I would imagine it would be pliable wood, and in my estimation would be 18" exactly, partly because he's a giant and that needs to be taken into account. Also his big heart plays a big role in his wand length, too.

I think he could do well at performing protective spells. Also increasing spells to provide food for his magical beasts to overwinter.

IIUC, increasing food diminishes it's nutritional value, but I'm not sure of that. I hope it's not true. Hagrid could also grow his great pumpkins and leave them around for animals who—like mundane porcupines (see videos of Teddy the porcupine)—enjoy pumpkins very much.

I also think he'd be ambassador to the Black Forest because of his bravery, his acquittal in the Battle of Hogwarts, and his mastership of beasties. His newly-paired wanted would help give him authority in the Dark Forest.

Before snapping the elder wand in half, Harry should have used it to repair Hogwarts along with McGonagall, Slughorn, and others

Why no mention of Harry and Ginny’s middle child Albus Severus? He attended Hogwarts while Teddy Lupin was still there. James Sirius told him something about it being bad about getting sorted into Slytherin prompting Harry to tell it would be alright if he was sorted into Slytherin instead of Gryffindor. Also Draco’s son Scorpius also started attending that same and became Albus’ best friend.

The only book that i need about wizarding world would be complete and detaild history of Lord Voldemort. 8 books of his 7 years and first wizarding war. Too bad Rowling said she is not gonna published something like that. Insted we got a crap called "curse child".

Tbh the more and more ocuring mysterious things and more being revealed to muggle world could be such an amazing and intresting theme for a new movie or series just about these future events or our current time.

I mean there is more dark things happening that cant be explained+ muggles with social media etc get more revealed every year about wizarding world, this could be picked up to make such brilliant storys if i Imagine just a few concepts
