I’m glad you’re speaking about this. Many people are completely driven off hype entering the hobby thinking they’ll make a ton of cash easily, without the wait time and by all means, that’s just not what goes on with Pokémon cards.

Haven't heard a single other investment style channel talk about downside risk. 99.9% give no basis for what they're doing and pump up a bunch of stuff they don't even personally have. I make videos in this area and I spend 80% of the video explaining the history and why. The dollar signs are what everyone's chasing and what gets clicks.

Yeah I've been trying to do a little of modern and vintage recently. The vintage side has kinda gone stagnant for me so I started doin a little modern. Now I'll always say vintage is king, but it's good to diversify for sure. I want the money. Not just vintage money. Lol. I want everything and all of it

flipping is the way to go. thousands upon thousands of singles with decent liquidity currently sit far below msrp, its just a question of coming across it before someone else. same with sealed - some stores make mistakes, and will have sealed products listed way below msrp. you can tell its a mistake, cause pretty soon after your purchase the price gets corrected (oftentimes too late, when the other remaining stock is bought out).

As somebody who loves to play the TCG. I wish that the Pokemon community was just collectors and players. The investment people making the cards I want for my decks or even my collection unattainable.

I would argue 2019 was not growth. I got the best prices on all my cards in august-October 2019. They bottomed then yes, but it was steady down for the first 9 months of that year :)
