It was teased in October revealed in January and dropped in March for breath of the wild's release...

Changing to a new generation every four years may make a lot of sense considering the number of Pokemon we have so far. A "normal" generation of about 100 Pokemon (I am more inclined to think Gen 10 will be more like 125-150 range), plus a few additional in a Legends, or similar type game, could reduce the total number of new Pokemon by about 100 over 10 or so years compared to the past. That may take the right amount of pressure off the designers and programers in putting out a better product and still bring all the old Pokemon back.

Battery life has always been the most important thing for Nintendo - the Switch's clock speed is not maxed out, which means that game performance suffers. This rumor about choosing a mode would be a nice solution to this problem - at home I can choose the performance, and when traveling I can switch [sic!] to saving battery, I like this idea a lot

I could be wrong but didn’t Nintendo announce the New 3DS and then drop it only a few months later? I could see it happening again with the Switch 2 since it’s a revision of the Switch and not a completely new console

Water is wet… literally all remakes have been tied to a new console; FRLG:GBA, NDS:HGSS, N3DS:ORAS, NSW:BDSP… for obvious reasons BW remakes were never planned/released for NSW. That rumor is just hinting at the obvious.

I believe it, it is a weird plan but think about it, if you announce the switch 2 now no one will buy the switch 1 to save the money, they need to make money during Christmas/black Friday some how, Jan announcement makes sense but who knows, see it from a money point of view
