Ok as a leftist, this episode is my biggest disappointment with Jessica. Is she out of her mind? She thinks “earning” the nomination by Harris calling the delegates and privately getting them to agree to vote for her and scaring away any competition instead of inviting it (and then prevailing) is a democratic process?

If this is what we are going to get for all her positions going forward, I’m probably going to have to quit watching the show. Bri had some etiquette issues, but she wasn’t this nuts.

I live in a Blue State and was a Democratic Party member for a long time. The same thing is happening on a local level - the party bosses pick the candidate and then put their money and muscle behind their choice. City, Town, County, State and Federal candidates - all the same. Not very democratic. Because of this back room chicanery I left the party, and seldom vote Democratic any more. Too crooked.

To suggest that because a majority of Democrats wanted Biden to not run means they prefer Harris is ridiculous. And to pretend the voters would not want to weigh in on his successor is also ridiculous. No one voted for Harris to be president.Her approval now has zero to do with her but only that she is a Democrat. They have no choice but to support her. Yeah, real “Democratic”.

Shellenberger is one of very few actual journalists working in the USA. Jessica is overly defensive of the Dem Party and it hurts her in the discussion. Shellenberger is the strongest voice in America for the First Amendment, Freedom of Speech, opposing the rampant censorship being conducted at the behest of agencies of our current Administration.

Jess is not a dumb woman. She is being a disingenuous advocate for the establishment here and really not making a good case but rehashing sad talking points. What Jessica described was not a democratic process. It was a cabal against a candidate that should have been the Democratic party's nominee for president. Moreover, the fact that she defended this action while working for that person's campaign speaks more to her ethics (or lack thereof) than to any political process.
