Phy121 Lab 5 2 D Projectile Motion Experiment

A projectile launcher is attached to a table and a photogate attached the end of the barrel to measure the muzzle velocity, which will then be compared with the value obtained from the video analysis/curve fitting. Two trials are conducted, at complementary angles and graphs of x vs. t, y vs. t, and y vs. x will be plotted. The Range (R) that the ball reaches in each case will be compared to the predicted value. Setting up the iPhone slow-motion camera requires careful study of the video, since this one thing that will not be set up in the lab. Note: Use the lowest speed setting (one notch) for the muzzle velocity! Be careful and let everyone know when firing the launcher and do not look down the barrel!
