I looked into those photoreceptors and I saw something completely different.

I saw them frantically looking around after a series of cracks left them standing completely alone.

I saw them jumping at me with a frenzy born of something completely different.

I've seen them charge at me in desperation after having both arms blown off and rendered near harmless.

I've seen them actually jump at shadows and noises from within the mist. To be fair I know what made the noise since I was there.

I've seen them erect totems made of dead divers to try and serve as a warning. To me this is not an act of hate.

Because to hate something means something far different.

The idea that A.I can learn to hate is a visceral one that a machine through sheer logic can develop a response of hatred is one of the reasons why when we develop true artificial intelligence we are nice to it.
