The weird people are the ones who hike up a ski resort to go down

Both is better than just one. Backcountry skiing is obviously awesome, but you will spend more than half of your time not skiing. Going to a resort is still necessary to get enough practice time. Lift lines are often not long where I ski. I live in Montana, and our ski resorts are usually not crowded at all.

Best part of backcountry is the access to mountains/views/faces that normal people will never be able to get to and ride on. You get to experience something very little people will ever do!

I think most resort skiers would love the opportunity to go back country if they could. It’s just not accessible to the average person. Wether it be knowing the right people or skill level

You’re not a backcountry skier unless you tell everyone you meet that you’re a backcountry skier.
