They shall not grow old,
As we, who live, grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years, condemn.
At the going down, of the sun, and, in the morning,
We will remember them.

I loved my Grand father, (paternal), and my Great Uncle (maternal), both ANZACs.
Grandpa carried his wounds until he died -1968.
We'd sit together silently, whenever we were together. He'd quietly relate his memories of wonderful things, BUT NEVER ABOUT Gallipoli.
He taught me about grafting fruit trees together, about fishing, how to catch a pidgeon; by feeding it, without hurting it, then freeing it again. I learned so much about "kindness to animals" that I'll never forget.
These, are his Legacies of WW1.
I WILL NEVER FORGET!
Vernon G. Thompson.

My great great uncle William Foreman died at the Battle of the Somme, 4th August 1916. Only learnt about this last year and now I celebrate ANZAC day.

“In the morning, and the going down of the sun, we will remember them.
“From the ANZACs, we can live in this great country, to all those who sacrificed their lives, so we can live happy and free lives. We will not forget.
“Lest, we, forget.”

God bless our brothers and sisters from Australia and New Zealand. It's going to be more and more essential for all of the Anglo-sphere to come together and support each other in the decades to come.

I love the way you described all the facts into one video, But it's so sad that over 10, 000 people died!

Thanks for the resource which I used this morning in my grade 5/6 class. However, I want to point out that while it mentions New Zealand in the acronym and a couple of other times, the narration tends to mostly just mention that the commemoration and holiday is Australian. Ironically it shows a Maori/NZ soldier in an extended scene though. I think this resource could/should be more balanced to express that this is equally an NZ AND AUSTRALIAN day

I'm from the United States we celebrate Memorial day on the last Monday in May
I find it very similar to Anzac day! Love and peace from the States ❤ I buy poppy flowers to remember the Falling soldiers of the United States. But memorial day has become the unofficial start of summer and had lost much of original significance. 😢

We are in England have November 11 Remembrance Sunday we always have ceremonies but if it falls during the week we also standstill for two minutes silence and we also wear a poppy as a mark of respect and in the last two years we also have a purple poppy and that for all the animals that died in the war and we also have the 11th of the 11th day 11th which stands for the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month we will remember them

Good information, However the narrator is far too upbeat and happy sounding..
This needs a much more sombre tone, representive of the occasion..
Any chance this can be redubbed?

Feel sorry for the lives lost but instead of celebrating you should be protesting. Your people gave their lives to fight Americas and UK wars. Wake up people.
