I'm 24 years old now and have had chronic sinusitis since the age of 8. I missed a lot of school days, got scolded by teachers for 'staying home too easily' and not just 'sucking it up'. One of my teachers scolded me in private, after I had to stay home for two weeks because I had to have emergency sinus surgery. The doctors told me I most likely would have gotten meningitis if I had waited any longer. I thought things would get better over time, but they didnt. I am fatigued 24/7, got a stuffed nose and post nasal drip all the time and lingering sinus pain. I don't know why this isn't talked about more- but I really feel like sinusitis effects all aspects of your life. I don't feel like anybody truly understands, only those who experience it themselves.

If anyone here deals with anxiety from this issue then I can assure you recovery is possible! And I know this because I am currently dealing with sinusitis and anxiety from bad sinuses issues from deviated septum and swollen cavities. I recently started getting anxiety and panic attacks which have caused my life to turn into a dream like hyper awareness state. However I have been trying to clean my sinuses and relieve some pressure and everytime I do it I feel like a new person and close to normal again. So this tells me my brain is just battling/fighting through this sinus pressure/issues causing this brain fog and I just need to get it treated (hopefully surgery) to relieve it! Hope this makes people feel better!

i had that hellish disease cured after 4 years with out surgery. pressure in head, post nasal drip, sleep disturbances, sleep apneoa, panic attacks, mood changes, personality changes, myelitis osteitis irritating the brain.... I have total sympathy for myself and empathy for you. The best treat ment is sinus rinse , best antibiotic leflox courses, nsaids, nasal steroid, xylometazoline 3 days, anti allergics, wearing face mask, preventing flu attacks and other diseases, and slowly gradullay reducing the disease. immunity boosting with exercise and diet... room cleaning... and helping others and getting it from family and friends.. and also prayer supplication asking help from GOD and with the belief that God will compensate it in the end with something else... i think it is worse than misery from moderate cancer...But bravely facing it.. The physical, mental, spiritual transformation by this experince will be great....

3 years now of brain fog, random dizziness, not able to drive on high speed roads. Seen many doctors, so many tests including MRI, neuro, breathing, system.... finally seen a ENT yesterday and right away he says for sure he knows what the problem is. He gave me nasonex and claim that I’ll be back to normal after 6 weeks and says I don’t need the cpac machine that another doctor recommended.

It was and continues to be depressing and antibiotics is not helping, I have poor sleep because of it seeing that most times I have to sleep with my mouth open.imagine this and dealing with anxiety n depression. The post nasal drip is so terrible.

I’ve had two sinus surgeries as a result of two bouts of chronic sinusitis. I’ve been suffering a sinus infection that won’t respond to home remedies and antibiotics. I had allergy testing yesterday for which the results were the same last year - moderate positive to dust mites. I am seeing an ENT next Friday who hopefully will determine next steps via nasal endoscopy, culture, and maybe even CT scan.

Guys me too been suffering from chronic sinutis for 14 years. Stay away from surgery as it didnt help me at all. The only thing that does is traditional chinese medicine. Go for acupuncture and consume chinese herbs such as pe min kan wan which is easy to get in usa. I have ordered mine just now. Also most important thing is your food intake. Avoid eating deep fried food, dairy products, and refined carbohydrates.

I've had 2 surgeries, 3 months apart and I'm 24😪🤧Constant Headaches and Fatigue! I don't want to deal with this my whole life. I've done allergy shots and cut all inflammatory foods. Cut most sugar intake including carbs most of the time. I've dropped 30 lbs but the headaches I get everyday and if I don't take Tylenol the turn into migrains and nothing works except a nap. I've started cycling my shower from hot to cold intervals and it expels mucus and saline rinses to avoid having my symptoms enabling me to breath through my nose again. My ENT said it was the worst record for him pulling what was like rubber out of my face. I even have a picture and it is horrendous. 😪 Looking for new life style changes to help with this. Considering candida could be playing a roll and might try a clense. Allergy meds no longer work even when changing them up.

I've been having this for 8+ years. I've gotten misdiagnosed with deviated septum. I have to abuse steam and anti histamines for relief. If my pnd gets too thick it feels like I'm drowning and constantly have to swallow, this can cause panic attacks which have happened a lot in the past. I'm usually fatigued and can't do much during the day. There's brief periods of time I don't get these problems if I'm lucky. This has ruined my quality of life and eating away my years and don't know what to do..

I started having congestion issues in 2016. I went to the ER & was told that I had a sinus infection. I was given antibiotics & told to take an antihistamine every day. So, that’s what I’ve been doing all these years. Well, this year has been the absolute worse.

So, I got the flu back in November of 2022. I was very congested & decided to use a nasal rinse to help flush out the mucus in my nose. Well, as I was doing the nasal rinse, my left ear got clogged. It was clogged for about 2 days before I went to my local Walgreens & bought some ear drops to try & help unclog my ear. Well, a few days later, (after using the ear drops) I was in the kitchen cooking & I started to feel woozy/lightheaded. I finished cooking, ate & laid down but I didn’t feel any better. I went back to work that Monday & felt woozy/lightheaded still. So, I left work & went to the ER. I was told at the ER that my left ear was impacted with wax & I was dehydrated. So, I ended up getting my left ear irrigated. I could still feel some water in my ear after the irrigation & that water never went anywhere. I would constantly feel water moving around in my ears from one ear to another. So, I went & saw my PCP bc now, my balance was off. Saw my PCP & it was determined that I had an ear infection. I was given antibiotics for the ear infection. I followed up with my PCP 2 weeks later & the ear infection was gone but there was still fluid in my ears. So, I was referred to an ENT Specialist. Saw the ENT Specialist & she said that my ears looked good but that my nasal passages was inflamed which has most likely caused my eustachian tubes to become swollen. And when your Eustachian tubes become swollen, they do not open & close like they should, causing fluid to become trapped behind the ear. So, she prescribed me Prednisone (steroids) to help with the inflammation. Well, I was only able to take the steroids for 6 days before stopping bc I felt TERRIBLE after taking them. So, I kept complaining about the fluid I would feel in my ears, the dizziness, imbalance & just how terrible I felt. She then did a Nasal Endoscopy to check for sinus disease & said she didn’t see any signs of sinus disease & told me to take an antihistamine & use nasal spray to help with the eustachian tube swelling. I was using both Fluticasone & Azelastine twice a day (which she told me to use). I kept complaining about how it felt like I had a sinus infection. Well, I ended up catching COVID after all of this. I ended up going to the ER bc the headaches had gotten so bad. The hospital did a CT Head & it was determined that I did have a sinus infection. Followed up with my ENT Specialist, who then ordered me to have a CT Sinus done & NOW I HAVE CHRONIC SINUSITIS 😔 I’ve been taking an antihistamine. Now, my nostrils are extremely dry. I literally used a whole can of Saline Nasal Spray yesterday. Like, what can I do to decrease the nasal inflammation & help with the dry nostrils? I’ve used petroleum jelly, neilmed nasogel & matys simply breathe nasal ointment. Nothing has helped.

I’ve had sinusitis since 2018 ongoing I got the flu and I recovered but my nose hasn’t :/ one of my nostrils is ALWAYS clogged and it switches up one day the left side will be clogged a couple hours later or next day the right side will be clogged and it’s been like this since 2018 :/ I was put on a steroid nasal spray but that barley helped and I know they have side effects so I stopped using it I hate this so much, both of my nostrils will sometimes open if I tilt my head in a certain way and they’ll stay open for 5-10 mins and my god it feels so good to breathe normally. I miss being able to breathe normally and I hate how I run out of breath when talking because I can barley breathe
