2017 Honda CR-V Touring 1.5L Turbo

Anyone else notice this strange humming sound coming from their vehicle when turned off? It was parked for over 4 hours when we noticed the humming. Not the first time either. It shut off by itself when I wasn't recording.

I noticed my 2018 CR-V making this Humming sound a few night ago. I didn't know what it was and was going to take it to the dealership this week until reading Martin Cavin's comment. Thanks. My CR-V is only a few months old. The Dealership should have told me about this at time of purchase.

Discovered today, with 2020 CRV Touring, parked in garage. Electrical type humming noise coming from back end. Moving car outside made it go away, even after returning to garage and turning off. I had been operating the rear wiper/washer prior to parking earlier, so haven't ruled out the rear wiper/washer system yet. I see posts on ELCM below, so that's a consideration I'll look into.

Thank you Marvin for the information. I have a CRV from 2017 and have heard this intermittently over the last year and a half. It is good to know is not a problem so I appreciate you putting the comments out there.

Our CRV 2019 makes the same noise! Did anyone go to the Dealer and ask what it it is?

I just purchased my 2019 Honda CR-V Touring two weeks ago, and on two occasions I happened to go out to the garage and I have heard that soft humming, or buzzing sound. I start it up and shut if off and then the buzzing stops.

My CRV 2014 makes a humming noise from behind the navigation screen area first thing most mornings, some time more louder than other mornings. Usually stops after ten minutes driving. I have asked Honda customer service what it may be but they rather send me for £120 diagnostic check rather than give me an educated reply. Any ideas. Petrol 2.0 ltr Ex

I have the same issue on my 2018 CR-V. Could not find the Honda bulletin that Martin mentioned anywhere online, however I did take mine to the dealer today and they mentioned that this sound is more than likely caused by something within the rear differential that needs to be replaced. I am scheduled for repairs this weekend, but I am curious as to where this Honda bulletin is, and/or if there is something out there other than a blog that confirms the noise is related to a vacuum pump within the fuel system?

Honda issued a bulletin about this.  The noise is caused by the vacuum pump inside the fuel evaporation leakage check module (ELCM). Depending on conditions, the pump will come on for about 15 minutes about 5 to 10 hours after engine Shutoff.  Why didn't Honda put this info in the Owner's manual?

I've noticed this too on a 2019 crv. Whatever it is it has to be normal. It stops after a few minutes. Or if you start the car. Im not worried about it
