Great video! Maybe Lennie has the ability to see the good in people, hence when he goes into Crooks' room, he says "I seen your light". "Light" could be metaphoric of positivity/goodness. That's similar to when he only sees the softness, as you said, in CW.

Hi Mr Salles! I've been watching your videos for so long now and I've found them to be the most useful resource. I'd like to first thank you for helping me go from a 7 to a grade 9 student in English, it's not even my first language so I don't know how to thank you enough. I've also used your revision videos for AIC as we had to write an essay for our coursework - I was struggling so bad and I just wanted to let you know that I've had my essay photocopied and handed out to our whole year group as an example essay. This is all thanks to you! The amount of time and effort and dedication you put into your videos show through the quality of analysis, having you as a teacher would have been a gift. I'm now doing my mocks and I've been looking everywhere for analysis and quotations for Curley's wife especially, could you please make more videos on Of Mice and Men? I'm sure we'd all be more than appreciative, especially given the fact that it's the novel Year 11s are covering for their iGCSEs. Again, thank you and I hope you continue doing what you do.

Can you please do some quote analysis of Curley as I find him the trickest to analyse and Steinbeck's purpose of having a character like Curley.

would it not be possible to view Curley's Wife as a physical representation of the ranchworker's dream? She's female and they have a desire for a partner "maybe have a girl" and the fact that it gives Curley status shows that its something to be desired. She drifts in and out of their daily routines possibly like their thoughts about their dream. They constantly reject talking to her "ain't i got a right to talk to nobody" which is similar to how the men blow their wages at a "cathouse" instead of saving for their piece of land (they reject an oppertunity to make their dream be a reality). George and Lennie's dream also dies when she dies

For the 'pigeon and soul' comment, could you say that as she is described as a 'pigeon' and not a dove, that she was annoying and dark, and maybe the opposite to symbolic as In my opinion, doves are the symbolic creatures and pigeons are the opposite?
