Over the past 20+ years of hunting, I have come to truly appreciate the utility, durability and looks of fixed power scopes.

If you haven’t considered a fixed power rifle scope for your own use, you may be missing out on a great option.

Thanks for watching!

I purchased a sporterized K98k earlier this year that had a 1998 Leupold M8 6x mounted on it for four and a half benjamins. Beautiful, clear scope that looks really good on the rifle. Good video.

I really like fixed power scopes. Thanks for posting this! Purposely looked for an M8-6x for my Ruger RSi in .243. What sweet rig that is!

Update I bought another one for my CZ 452 American, 22LR.

I have a gloss finished Weaver K3 that I bought used in 1984 for a Ruger 10/22. Great scope.

I’m really enjoying all your videos 👍. I’m with you on fixed power scopes. I used to have a Weaver K6 made in Japan scope it was extremely clear, shame they stopped making them.

I have the same taste in rifles and scopes you do. I'd love to see a review on that 7600. Even your Marlins.

I put the Leupold 2.5x20 on my AR this year. Love it!!!
I’m probably going to get another one for my 30-06 pretty soon.
FYI, I think MEOPTA still makes their MEOPRO 6x42. Slightly better glass than the Leupold 6x42 👍🏼

Fixed power. Bonus points for etched reticles. Long range target shooting is a different thing, with different requirements. That said, a Nikon 4-16 x 42 just fell into my lap, so that's going on my 18.5" Remington Model 7 .308. The seller hadn't been able to get rid of it, probably because of the current fetish for 30mm tubes.

There are russian fixed power VOMZ sights that breathe the vintage aesthetics (at least two or three are exact copies of soviet civilian scope designs). The quality is kinda jumpy, some are built well and some aren't (warranty covers all the repairs and fixes if you can get it back to Vologda), but they do the trick on 7, 62x54R and below, might also endure .30-06.
Zrak in Bosnia lists few fixed power sights that look like they are relics of the past, but I'm not sure where can one find those for sale.
For high prices there are fixed scopes by Schmidt & Bender, Karl Kaps and one model by Meopta is more of a middle class option.

When I see some 4x-16x-x44mm FFP, on, of course, a 6.5 AlwaysNeedmore, for hunting in the eastern woods, I already know that guy has an experience deficit.

I really get tired of people who can’t pronounce company names, Leupold is pronounced like lupold, not Leo it’s even spelt the way it’s pronounced leu not Leo
