Infosys founder Narayana Murthy says that India's dream of becoming a global manufacturing hub is 'too audacious'. In an interaction during a tech summit in Bengaluru, Murthy says that 'India is far away from becoming a hub - these are just big words that are used. China has 6x of India's GDP. We were about the same in the mid 70s'. He also praised the Chinese, saying that Chinese are disciplined, they have national pride, they work hard, they don't argue like Indians do. Watch

India is obsessed with competing with China. I remember when China opened up its markets, it never compared itself to any country specifically. It was all about learning from the West and improving GDP, improving life expectancy, improving education. Fix your own problems first before competing with anyone. By focusing on growth, you will grow. China is actually more a natural ally than an enemy. I hope India learns this soon

None of the fellows in india follow simple rules like following the traffic signal. And we claim as world leaders. What a joke ?

We may say China is not a "democracy" but the CPC government has to confront the most formidable opposition party in the world known as the USA. The CPC government knows that if they don't perform, the US will easier meddle in Chinese domestic affairs and overthrow the CPC government and split China. This is one of the reasons why China is performing so great.

Who wants to set up factories here? He didn’t talk about humongous corruption involved in setting up factories, labour unions, poor productivity, poor skills, no modernization, high cost of borrowing, export bottlenecks, hundreds of regulations. Plenty of freebies, poor work ethics, etc.,

Mr. Narayana Murthy's assessment of India's prospects is astute. The nation is ensnared in a detrimental combination of socialistic tendencies, pervasive corruption at all levels, and a dysfunctional government, as evidenced by the disarray in parliament where elected representatives actively obstruct proceedings. As an Indian who came to the U.S. nearly four decades ago, I had high hopes of witnessing India evolve into a developed and advanced nation, akin to the significant successes achieved by Indian Americans. However, it is disheartening to see that vision remain elusive. I am profoundly disappointed in the current trajectory.

True! Chinese people don't argue like any other countries do. For Chinese people argument is a time waste. So they have plenty of time at hand for innovation.
