Glad to see Deb's eyebrows survived the blow torch action😉

I'm behind yet, still catching up, so maybe others here have said this, but I will strongly recommend that you use a hair dryer to do the heat shrinking and not a blow torch. As a retired diesel truck mechanic, we never used a blow torch, always just a hair dryer, much safer for you, for the environment (no gas used, and no gas either of you have breathed in), and will not melt the heat shrink where a blow torch can, and it's safer for your partner that might be holding the other end of the wire. 🙂 If you don't have enough amperage to use a 110amp hairdryer, they do make and sell 12v hairdryers. But I love that crimping tool ... wish everyone used one ... smart man! Yep, boats are so limited in room, not just in room for stuff, but in room for a human to work around that stuff. Love your vlog.

Rule #1 Nothing is ever EASY! Toss all the Wingnuts and replace with split ring lock washers and nuts made for batteries because of the vibrations of boats. It has been proven that removing two of the Parrell jumping wires and moving the wires coming from the load to the extreme opposite ends of your bank like in the three-battery picture you showed, makes it draw better also eliminates the possibility of one battery dropping out unnoticed which happens in the way your bank is wired. Also, it has been proven that your load carrying wires need to be the same length to get a balanced draw. There are enough Off Grid and Solar systems out there now that prove it.

nice to see how you've got your lovely assistant helping you. how can you go wrong with such a wonderful helper, eh? it truly is nice to see how you both work together. me, I can barely figure out how to change a light bulb and am just plain muck at figuring out instructions, so I just couldn't do that!

That's a nice crimper I am still using the old hammer job. it works and has done for many years. but I do like that one.
Nice job on the rewire. agree with you on the bus bars although they do look small!.
Anyway nice video. Glad to see you involve Deb in this .. I personally think that with just the two of you it's important that you both know all the systems.
Bit like talking a cruise, as soon as you have found your room find at least two ways to your assigned life boat. Anyway have a great day and be safe.

Just flicking through your videos. Enjoying the views of the canal and picking up some tips too. Hope to be on the cut in my own boat, hopefully within a year but gotta build it first :-). keep up the good work

the way you have wired them up is correct, but there is an easier way of doing it, take the positive feed to battery A, now loop from the positive of A to the next positive battery B then C and then d, now take the negative feed and go to the negative of battery D, then loop to the negative of C then B and finally A wired in series less confusing

only thing i would add is adhesive lined heat shrink will give a better seal or in a pinch some liquid electrical tape as an alternative under the shrink
