Art Journal in Simple Steps Intro

Art Journaling is about the process, with this series I would like to guide you through some simple techniques to create layers. Layering several pages, instead of finishing a page all in one go.

That thought of "letting go of expectations" was a real breakthrough for me. The moment I put my first gluebook insert together was when I also realised "... Oh, so I can do whatever I feel like? It doesn't have to add up to anything? I can PLAY!" and it was such a feeling of freedom, of being able to do whatever I felt like.
I think that as adults we are so often expected to be the best that we eventually forget how it is to start something, to be a beginner. And having an experiment book, notebook, journal is a great idea because you don't have to excel at anything. You're just practicing, learning.
