I ordered a Jaguar online and they sent me a Jazzmaster by mistake (not Andertons I should point out). I kept it and I love it. One day I’ll get a Jaguar, maybe the Johnny Marr signature if I remortgage the house.

I can certainly hear the difference in the Jazzmaster's warmer wide-wound single coil pickups vs. the Jag's standard bright high-wound single coil pickups. I am buying a Jazzmaster! 🥰

the jaguar has a pretty basic single coil tone but those weird wide pickups on the jazzmaster have more drive and sound very unique

My first guitar was a Jazzmaster that I bought in 76'. I still had a lot to learn and I got rid of it in 80' before I got to appreciate it. I hadn't played enough other guitars to really formulate an opinion. Now all these years later, I miss it and would love to find another when the stars and planets and $$ line up right.

Always thought I preferred the Jaguar, until I got one of each. Now I have sold my Jag and own three Jazzmasters. Heed my warning: don't buy a Jazzmaster, unless you wanna neglect all your other guitars and start collecting them....

I like that jazzmaster here rn, but i think it's just that it sounds nice to me in rosewood. Both platforms are cool

I always preferred the Jaguar, but purely because of all the chrome. I just love the chrome. And I don’t mind the shorter scale length, although I’m pretty sure I’d be using a set of twelves on them to compensate. 🥴

You say 'hear the difference' but it's all in the feel, 24 inch scale feels super comfortable to me while I feel like I'm playing a baritone when I use my JM

Jaguars are too short. That 24" does not work for me. Jazzmasters are the full 25.5" scale, which is what works for me.
