Hey guys! This is a bit different from my usual content, but I wanted to make a vid with a wider scope. The tips are a bit less focused because of it, but I believe that they still hold a lot of value. I do plan to branch out into other games in the future, but Valorant is my main game for now. Anyway, hope you enjoy! :)

Honestly, the "know what you don't know" and "be highly self critical" is good advice for anything. Thank you for the explanation. It helps me understand that aspect of self improvement from a different perspective.

To be honest, these guide videos are 100% better because of eggwick's voice. I can feel ASMR vibes and the bg music helps!

00:00 Intro
01:19 Know what you don't know. Dunning-Kruger effect.
02:48 Learn from better players. Watch how the pros do it and understand why.
03:50 Learn to prioritize. Work out your practice/training smarter, not harder.
05:28 Have the right mindset. Avoid tilt/toxicity. Take a breaks when tired, don't waste your time and enjoy the process, not the outcome.

I have another tip for a lot of people, record your gameplay if possible. Being self critical is hard to do if there isn't something to judge in the first place. So record your gameplay, watch it back, and pick out your mistakes. If you do this enough, you'll be able to more often pick out your mistakes in game. Great video.

I'm an ex Top 500 Overwatch player (OW2 can't come soon enough, lol) and you nailed pretty much everything I typically say to those looking to improve in competitive environments. So many times people would tell me that the game was wrong and that they should be higher but most people don't realize that real growth and skill comes from the ability to look at yourself with a critical eye. You will learn way more and faster if you stop blaming your teammates or any outside variables other than your own. Focus on what you can do to improve, and your rank will go up with it. Great video! :)

As someone who comes from fighting games, here's one thing you didn't mention that helps in any kind of game: Understand the viable options for each situation. A fighting game example of this is: you don't need to even think about anti-airing an oponnent jumping at you, if they're at a distance where their jump won't even reach you

Great video! Some tips I would like to add:
1) 80/20 principle: 80% of your improvement can come from 20% of your gameplay. Cover your weaknesses and leverage your strengths.
2) Find your style. Rather than copying what you see, become a unique blend of your favorite players and plays.
3) learn on bad days. Some days are better than others, so rather than bash your head trying to force yourself to play better use bad days to try new things. Since you're losing anyways, you can experiment and have fun while learning something new. Your rank might drop, but when you have a good day you can climb back up with momentum. It also helps to place partial blame on your experiment to avoid full tilt.

Solid video, 100% accurate.
Especially enjoying the process: the climb is a struggle til you're on top - then its boring. The journey makes it what it is. You make the journey what it is.
