The Push-Up.

There is so much to say about this "simple," yet complex movement. Most people see this as a simple beginner exercise, but there is a lot going on here. Remember, how well you do your basics is how well you'll do advanced skills.

There are millions of ways to do push-ups, but for the majority of the time, these are some good practices:

✅ “Neutral” neck
✅ Shoulders over hands
✅ PPT (optional depending on some factors)
✅ Full ROM (chest touching the floor every rep)
✅ Forearms as vertical as possible at the bottom.

With those in mind, you'll have a pretty solid push-up. Anything else (scapula position, hand width, etc.) would be based on individuality as well as what you are looking to get out of the exercise.

If you want to delve into the all the details of a push-up, you can check out “Day 3 of our calisthenics beginners guide in the App” (it’s free) and learn more about push-ups than you would ever want to know about lol You know where to go for that!

Any other questions below!
Appreciate you being here.

You forgot to mention about the Scapular retraction on the way down and the Scapular protraction on the top of the movement.

Pushing forward is not necessarily mean it’s perfect form. The more you push forward, the more you feel your shoulder being worked and is generally harder.
