I took my Mini 3 Pro out to Santorini last week, I didn't fly it once, too close to the airport, didn't want to upset people on the beach, too windy... too built up, didn't want to spoil the sunset for others, whatever, no regrets, sometimes, you just have to pour a beer and realise there are times when you need to chill.

Finally I see a person making a video that shows the issues with people using drones that it's not the drones that are the problem. Irresponsible use is the drone problem, people who enjoy flying and getting great footage shouldn't be looked down upon. I have a phantom 4 pro and a mavic mini and I've never got a complaint

Well said mate, I bought my drones because I'm disabled and was always at home. Now I go too places and film the things that I would never be able to see due to my spinal injury. It's even made my depression not seem as bad because it takes my mind off it for the time I'm out and also editing the footage.

I agree. I carry a drone on motorcycle trips to get footage of remote areas and give a new perspective on the area.
But what I see near where I live are people taking drones to spy on pools, fly over boats, fly over people in public parks, all sorts of really bad behavior. And yes it will impact us all.

Well said. No matter what hobby you have it’s always a few idiots who spoil it for everyone else.

You can absolutely fly to the very edge of what the law allows, but they need to remember that laws can easily be changed. And those with power or money came more easily have laws changed when they are annoyed by something (even if it is legal)

Excellent video and I hope the day never comes when consumer drones are banned completely. Every point you made is 100% valid and thank you for highlighting these issues and actually doing something constructive by posting and sharing this video.

It won't be the complainers who push this over the edge. It's Amazon and those few companies who want commercial drone delivery who are pushing to ban DJI.

Well said. It’s a symptom of a much larger problem. That problem is a lack of respect for others and plain old common decency…

I do drone footage for our roofing company, but not before having a license and registration. I also use the app to verify the No Flight zones . Be safe and make sure you are law compliance

It’s super frustrating that the actions of a few could ruin it for the rest of us. I try very hard to fly where no one even notices the drone and I follow FAA rules and am always on the lookout for helicopters because the last thing I want to do is create a problem.

A pal of mine, a professional photographer let me use his drone, a mavic 2. The ability to take stunning aerial footage blew me away and I purchased a mini 2 within 4 weeks. Despite the amount of rain we've had (usually on my days off) I've managed to take some awesome shots of beautiful scenery.... why would anybody want to take footage of a factory? It's beyond me!

Glad you brought up this topic. I've faced similar instances in photography where some idiots have tried doing fancy stuff at locations and thus resulting in a complete restriction for the rest of us. If only people would stop doing things for cheap publicity on social media, we can reap the benefits of technology.

May God give them some sense!

I'd like to know why anybody working at a factory would give a 💩 about someone flying a drone near or at the factory. How is that hurting them?

I can’t agree more what have you said. After being gifted with a mini 2 on Christmas of 21, I learned the laws when flying a quad under the recreational exemption. Took the TRUST test and never bothered people with the drone. It takes a couple of people to ruin for all of us.

100% we know the people you mean, flying to cause a row over a really rather boring place. Thanks for making this and confirming what quite a few people think !

I personally don't think they'll ban drones right out just add a license which anyone can get and then do a point system if u get x amount of points your band from flying especially if remote id comes out

I remember commenting to that "Auditor" that he was contributing to the eventual tightening of drone regs.

I was going to buy my first drone. However having seen the recent questionnaire from the CAA, it seems clear to me that they will place severe restrictions on drones or ban consumer drones outright. I'm not going to spend my money on something I'm likely not going to be allowed to use (I'm sure if they ban them, the government won't be paying compensation either).

Of coarse it's the end, it's been coming since a certain retail company muted its intention to start deliveries by drone. We've all been taken for a ride on the basis it was a safety problem, when the fact it was control and more control.
