Dr. Carrie Diulus, an orthopedic surgeon at Crystal Clinic Orthopedic Center,
Ohio, recently spoke with the National Spine Health Foundation about how undervalued or spoken of nutrition is in relation to spine health:

"One of the things we don't talk about enough is how nutrition impacts the spine...Obesity, diabetes and nutrition really have a significant impact -- not only on spine things happening and problems arising -- but also on the impact of treatment.

...optimizing patients nutrition prior to surgery can have a significant effect on their surgical outcomes."

Chips, sodas, candies, cookies and other high carbohydrate and sugary items are good to limit or avoid altogether right along with most of the ultra processed foods.

We are conditioned to neglect our bodies. Perhaps if we really valued our health so much of what we experience would be avoided or reduced considerably.

But, that makes lots of money for those manipulating and exploiting us.

My surgeon said my healing was among the best that he's witnessed. It probably had a lot to my being committed to surgery being successful.

Eat well, get adequate rest, walk and do the exercises.

Of course, as I'm sometimes reminded, I'm not a physician. 😮
