Mario Kart has all those fake creepy piracy screens cuz its a game played by a lot of kids. And its basically "school rumors on the internet". Any game played by a lot of kids is going to have these creepypasta things around it.

I like how the creepy Peach anti-piracy screen is ALMOST believable. Like, the game glitching out, loading an unused character. Not having files for it, so it loads Peach's files in place, but the model doesn't really match, so it's all borked up. Followed by the game freaking out and crashing. I mean, yeah, it's fake. But it's so much more enjoyable as a thing when it's somewhat believable.

Actually, Mario Kart Black IS real, i had it on my WII. However, it was just a normal rom hack that changed things here and there, no spooky scary mario ever came to my house and attacked me or my family lol

Another way to have the Mii head disappear in Moonview Highway (Wii) is by playing on Dolphin and loading a save state. The Mii head image is generated when the course is first loaded, but loading a save state will break this. I'm not sure if they ever patched this, but at least it was the case on older versions of Dolphin. This is true for many of the courses in the game that generate images using Miis
