We would be spend about 2.5 million won(korean currency) for a family of four member. all those includes telecommunications, transportation, and utilities, and is an all-inclusive price. And we also do some insurance, pensions, and savings. It all depends on how you spend your money, especially in traditional markets, where there are many special discounts on late hours. be happy!

I lived in Seoul a couple years ago, but ended up living paycheck-to-paycheck because I had no budget and didn't watch my expenses. now that i'm back in the US and better about managing my money, I've been wondering if i would really be living paycheck to paycheck again if i went back to Seoul

In the US, the transportation expenses may be over $1000/month because you have to drive by yourself and a lot of costs are involved

Your expenses are not that bad especially since you have a full time job. I’m currently a college student in America and my part time job doesn’t make me that much money. I plan on doing a working holiday in 2 weeks from now and I’m going to keep my monthly expenses under 1 million won (this is including rent).

To buy fruits and vegetables, you should go to the local market. The costs are way cheaper there!

I've never known that there is a unlimited card for the public transportation. Thanks! By the way, I've been living in Vancouver since 2003 and you gotta to pay $1700~2200 at least for a small studio.
