IG: @itswesleyanna | Welcome into an intimate, inside look into just how broke living in NYC makes me. 🤭 We're diving into exactly what I spend in an ordinary week here as someone trying to budget, save, and spend as little as possible (a real challenge lmao). Yes, I'm laying my whole life down for the internet to scrutinize—down to the dollar. No place like New York City™ baby!

I will not be taking comments on my eating habits at this time.

I greatly appreciated how realistic this video was and how it really showcased each side of things and how our generation figures out deciding how to live especially in the digital age. Really appreciated your vulnerability in sharing and the special project you go to do! I know it's tough especially figuring this all out, but I think you're doing great and should be proud of yourself. You deserve compassion too! We all make different decisions and I hope you come to enjoy yours!

NYC just has that magic where you want to be close to it. This city can eat you alive, but as the song goes, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.

Omg I felt the need to applaud after this video was over!!! 😭 this was SO well done. Being that I m a native New Yorker I relate so much to the existential dread, the introversion, and everything in between! You’re cool asf Wesley!

I yolo with no heatlh insurance while unemployed (though i have no on going health issues). I believe california /sf has health insurnce for low cost or free if you make under their standard of living metrics regardless of your asset values.

When I was laid off, i decided to NOT take COBRA beyond the first three free months. My payments were roughly $1500 too. I started to do self-pay at doctor's visits and even for lab tests, and medications whenever needed. The thing is that my entire year's out-of-pocket medical cost still came out to be less than $18, 000 per year for COBRA.

I live in southern California but just came back from a two month stay in NY. I drove a lot while I was there (used an old honda accord that my brother-in-law had lent me). While i had to constantly deal with the stress of finding street parking, i feel like it saved me a ton of time and money in the end.

Grew up moving around different parts of queens. Our last place was college point queens. My family used to pay 2100 total for a three bedroom two bathroom second floor apartment with a balcony out front, and you could see the water and the Whitestone bridge from it. That was only back in 2020. It was a long commute on the train after first catching a bus, but it was so worth it. Our landlord was nice to never rent increase on us, but he did for the next person after us. we live in CT now. Also it’s crazy that metrocards are now 2.90. I remember when they were 2.25 :/ dang New York.
