⁠corbin burnes chose hader as long relief even tho hader stopped being a long reliever after milwaukee reamed him in arbitration in 2020. after that point he essentially limited himself to being used as a closer exclusively. hader basically admitted it himself last year in SD when he said ‘are we in a playoff race ?’ when he refused to pitch in a game vs. SF. then he confirmed it again after he signed his big deal with houston on an interview on the MLB network that he didn’t wanna pitch multiple innings due to his arbitration hearing.
