this is the only year i'm more excited about the battery test than the speed test

You should do S21 Ultra Snapdragon vs S21 Ultra Exynos
so we can see if the Exynos really improves

The speed tests are all cool but realistically talking they're redundant. In day to day tasks you won't even notice any difference. It's a win for us as consumers because no matter which smartphone you pick, you'll be having a great time!

So we have reached a point in life where you don't have to worry about the performance of any flagship phone...
What intrigues me is the battery performance.

You should try the 2nd round by turning off the navigation buttons it takes an extra slide to close the app

Awesome.
You cant go wrong with either of these phones.
Cant wait to see how Pixel 6 stacks up to these two with Stock android 12 and custom tensor chip.

Doesn’t really matter which of these two you get. Both are insanely fast for everything. The difference is negligible at best. Speed test are still fun to watch tho.

Edit: I have an iPhone and Apple Watch. For those thinking I’m a “Android fanboy” lmao.

This test needs to be done again after the iPhone 13 has been optimized. Many apps haven’t been updated yet

Great video!
It doesn't change the result but I recommend you to enable the bottom gesture in full-screen mode for the Samsung (Good lock app > Home up > task changer > Gestures setting). It takes extra time to exit the games, videos... by swiping twice instead of one like the iPhone, so it wastes time in these kinds of tests. like these: 2:07 - 2:16 - 2:27 - 3:15 - 3:18 - 3:24
Also I would've liked to see what the Exynos chip could do.

When is the snapdragon vs exynos S21 Ultra video coming🤔

you should add more apps to the test because neither phone's RAM management was pushed to its limit. they are clearly capable of more

What would you all say to including thermal readings (IR thermometer, thermocouple, or thermal camera) during these performance and battery drain tests? I've heard that the Snapdragon 888 processors run hotter than the 865, but it'd be good to see quantitative evidence of that during these comparisons. Thanks for the great content!

8 months difference, but the iPhone isn't much faster than most of us expected

I hate that I no longer care about these tests. Getting older sucks.

I wonder if turning on Enhanced processing or setting the Processing Speed option to 'Maximum' on the S21 Ultra would give it a lower video export time.

The iPhone 12 pro max already beat the S21ultra in speed test so it will be a big win for the iPhone 13 pro Max

I don't know if anyone noticed, but in the gaming row the robot pressed twice to open the game and the galaxy always opened it on the second attempt. This was not the case in the previous tests

According to Max Tech, the 128 GB variant iPhone 13 s have their read speeds downgraded and are slower than their predecessors (12). I recommend using at least 256 GB variants for speed tests.

Nice test. It might be time to add more apps so we can see where one of the phone fails to keep an app in memory. Also, integrating a long pause (like an hour), unzipping a large file, uploading files over a network, and using the clipboard for copying large files would be great.

One thing these tests clearly show, closing your apps does NOT make your phone faster. Leaving them open makes it faster as they don't have to start up every time. Battery life however might be slightly effected, but that's another test the needs to be done.
