I finally got my hands on the new Lightlife Vegan burger that's a rival to the Beyond Burger and the Impossible Burger. It "bleeds" and cooks up just like beef. Here my daughter and I cook and sample it...and answer a question you may have after reading the ingredients!

Its nice seeing someone trying out and keeping up to date with all these Canadian options. I've been seeing these around, but the price always made me hesitate.

What a time to be alive! Also, it is required that a manufacturer assign 5 grams cholesterol to an analogue product's nutrition? TFP!

This is the 2nd review I saw tsoday. Very happy to get different opinion on it. The other person found them in Columbus, Ohio so hopefully that means they are available state wide, and not just limited areas.

Thank you MUCH for actually SHOWING the package, INCLUDING THE BACK, where all the ingredients and breakdown of nutritional facts. You are the first wonderful darlin' in all the (several!) vegan vloggers I've watched who did that. The company does NOT give the entire nutritional facts on their website. Personally, I care about not only how much SATURATED fat is contained in a product, but also how much TOTAL the other info too (such as sodium, fiber, sugars, etc.) No other vloggers I've watched reveal those facts, nor does the company. I've observed a disturbing trend among vegans, which is nobody seems to care anymore about TOTAL FAT content....Saturated fat, yes, but not TOTAL fat....I think that started with the "coconut oil" craze a few years ago, when everybody (especially the coconut oil manufacturing companies!) promoted it as a "health food". They lumped coconut oil along with other "healthy oils" (like extra virgin olive oil!), and the TRUTH is that ALL oils cannot be classified as "health food", and the unbiased research CLEARLY SHOWS that's not true, even about olive oil. It also disproves the "plant saturated fat is healthy" hype as absolutely WRONG as well. (If you don't believe me, check out Drs. McDougall, Barnard, Esselstyn, Campbell, Greger and others!) Yes, there is such a thing as "healthy fats", but even too much of HEALTHY fats are injurious to the body, can promote heart disease & cancer and other maladies, and that includes NUTS, SEEDS, AVOCADOS, OLIVES, etc. Yes, those whole foods are HEALTHY to eat, in moderation, but that word is key: "MODERATION". It seems that most vegans, especially the younger ones coming into the community, have gone crazy with putting tons of those whole foods in everything, and it is just not true that you can eat as much as you want of those foods containing high levels of "healthy fats". So I get very annoyed when so many vegan vloggers disregard those facts about fat, even healthy fats, as if it doesn't matter. And, I've noticed, many vegans are getting increasingly fatter, just like the rest of Americans! So, anyway, I'm sorry I've gone on and on about this, but I really just wanted to THANK YOU SO MUCH for including ALL the nutritional labeling in your review of this particular product. Everybody's rushing to get a burger that tastes like the real thing (in order to make a GAZILLION BUCKS in the process!), but ignoring whether or not the products are truly healthy & health-PROMOTING, in general. Yes, it's better than eating animals IMO, but the whole point is not ONLY to save animals and the environment. It is ALSO to make ourselves HEALTHIER. I've been 100% low-fat plant-based for over 10 years, and still love the flavor/smell/texture of REAL MEAT (haven't had any in 10 years, but I remember!!!), but I choose NOT to eat those foods because I want to be healthy and want the planet and the animals not to suffer. If they created a burger which tasted almost just like real meat AND was LOW-FAT/sodium/sugar, etc., I'd be first in line to buy it. But these products, so far, are too much fat in one serving! This one is at least a few grams less (Beyond Burger is, I think either 20 or 22 g), but still, 17 g. is just too much in one sitting, especially when I think it is possible to create a low-fat version which is still highly reminiscent of the real thing. Sincerely, Daryl

Just bought some of these today
Haven’t tried them yet, glad to hear they’re not terrible! lol Honestly, I don’t mind Beyond or Impossible burgers, but I’m not a fan of the overwhelming “meat” smell, especially how it sticks to my fingers with Beyond. So I actually prefer the OG veggie patties! 🙃

Looks nice. Invest in an air fryer, then you won't require any oil to cook them. Very quick and little cleaning required after.

That’s a very odd regulation on the cholesterol.!! How are we supposed to trust labelling with that sort of nonsense??

Great review and very thorough. These burgers are good but the Beyond Burger tastes better to me by a fair margin.

Whoa.. EXPENSIVE! $7.99 for a half pound, that is $15.98 / lb? I don't understand why they charge so much. I guess there are rich vegans out there. :( Thanks for a great review. Love to watch your meals. :)
