Computer won't turn on easy fix

This fix may not work long term - it has worked for me so far but can't guarantee it will work forever.
Update: This problem has since fixed itself after I changed my graphics card (i.e. I didn't need to do this anymore).

I'm so dumb, my computer wouldn't turn on and I was freaking out so I looked at so many videos like this until I realised... the computer wasn't plugged in

* PROBLEM SOLOVED * This worked a couple times, but stopped working. It was driving me nuts! I almost trashed my pc and bought a new one until I realized what the main issue was. Turns out the wiring from my power supply going into my motherboard was not properly connected. Seemed fine just by looking at it, but when I wiggled the wires a little I heard a click sounds and it powered up right away. Wires appeared to be connected, but were not connected all the way. I hope this helps some people.

My computer starts but then in like a second it stops working

This method definitely gave me hope...it was off for 3 days, wouldn’t power on. I saw your video, tried it a few times, the fan moved a little but wouldn’t kick in fully. I unplugged it from the back, held the power down about 15 seconds..plugged it in, the fan started to go a little more, but would die out. Finally I held the power down about 60 seconds, then simultaneously plugged the cord into the pc and let go of the power button...that did it :-) you definitely helped get me in the right direction ... and give me time to back my files up before this crashes for good lol! Thanks again!

When your computer won't start like that it's probably because of static shock. By turning off the power supply and pressing the on button you discharge any access power that's still in the system ;)

My friend has a model 13316-07W and your fix worked perfectly. Hers was on during a lightning strike induced power failure. I suspect the power supply shut down due to the momentary overvoltage from the strike and your "trick" turns the power supply back on. Whatever it is, thanks a lot for posting this.

I can't believe it but it worked. Our computer is at least 10 years old, and it has been on consistently since the COVID-19 home schooling started. We are never going to turn it off again.
