My local volleyball team had trouble working of basic rotation sheets so I made this easy to follow video for a 1 setter system.

The rotation is designed to maximise the amount of hitters at any one time.

Music is 1234 - Feist.

Thank you so much for this! I'm always confused about what spot I'm supposed to be in, and this helps tremendously!

Rotation #2 works if opposite is a good receiver, but it's not standard. Standard is setter penetrates from behind front-right outside. Also switching opposite and outside after the return can't really happen, the play might not allow it (e.g. block)

Rotation #3 is kind of wrong. There is no reason for opposite to be on the left of setter, he should be on the right. Middle has no reason to be in front of setter, he can move back to the 3 meter line. As shown here, there is a huge chance of conflict between the setter and opposite, as the opposite should be moving towards the 3rd meter line. Here the opposite just can't do anything at all :/

Rotation #4 has a minor error that people actually do, setter doesn't have to be on the left of front outside. He has to be on the left of back outside, and behind front middle, so he can start off at the middle of the court (also opposite can start further back, this is the rotation where he's most likely to spike)

Rotation #5 barely makes sense at all :( all the front line should be stacked to the left, with front outside moving back to receive. This avoids players crossing over and conflicting with the setter in the front court, as the front court is then open for the setter to get in place (and the middle to follow him).

I guess the rest is fine :)
