Hi Gaz, I just stumbled on the Electra One, I assume you've had more time with it since this video was done. What's your opinion of it now?

I use to VJ a lot with resolume a decade ago or so. Not really used the effects much at ell except simple stuff like color manipulation and mirror because kaleidoscopes obviously are awesome. Generally staying away from the "big" effects and working more with preparing clips instead usually got the best and least generic feeling results.

They probably have a lot more useful stuff in the program by now though. I don't know if the market has expanded much in the last decade but 10 years ago there were like 3 or 4 really usable commonly available VJ software packages so it was kind of important to stay away from the easy recognizable effects, otherwise everyone's sets would just look too similar. At the time there were no GPU acceleration either so the effects were usually limited by what could be done on the CPU in real time, I guess that GPU acceleration should have been some kind of game changer for VJ software.
