FILM DESCRIPTION:
After fleeing from a stage show, the illusionists (Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson) known as the Four Horsemen find themselves in more trouble in Macau, China. Devious tech wizard Walter Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe) forces the infamous magicians to steal a powerful chip that can control all of the world's computers. Meanwhile, vengeful FBI agent Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo) hatches his own plot against Thaddeus Bradley (Morgan Freeman), the man he blames for the death of his father.

I LOVE that reveal. The entire time they did the playing card heist, you keep thinking "How does that one guy not realize what's going on?" And at the end you realize... Oh. He was in on it.

I love how this movie starts and ends with the exact same lines. It’s the tone that changes everything. If you remove the last staircase scene, then this movie is technically a loop.

I love the fact that the quote at the start sounds like a threat, but when you get to the end and the words are said again you realize it was the opposite. It was so epic seeing this the first time.

I’m guessing Lionel and Thaddeus created the Eye in the first place with the intention of making “modern day Merry Men”, hence why the Horsemen did that one show in the first movie. They then came up with the idea of pretending to be enemies of each other, so that they can control things behind the scenes by faking Lionel’s death with the vault trick, turning the Eye into a secret society, but Lionel accidentally killed himself for real when trying to conduct the plan, and it caught Thaddeus and the rest of the Eye by surprise, leaving Thaddeus as the remaining leader. However, Thaddeus managed to keep up his status as Lionel’s “nemesis”, and helped the Eye evolve into a secret society, thinking that Lionel would’ve wanted it that way.

That’s just my theory.

I havent seen the film but from what i recall of the first one Morgan used misdirection perfectly, and if he is defending the secrets of the eye it makes perfect sense, and he is hiding something in plain sight.

I love the way Dylan and Thaddeus reconcile and Dylan knows he'll always have someone to go to if he ever needs advice, well that's my take on it anyway
