The 11th-ranked BYU Cougars dominated the UCF Knights with a commanding 37-24 victory, showcasing their prowess in the Big 12 Conference. Kalani Sitake and the BYU football program, now 8-0 to start a season for the first time since 2001, controlled the game with superior time of possession and rushing yards, outpacing UCF, one of the nation's best rushing teams.

This episode highlights the impressive performance of emerging star running back LJ Martin, who continues to draw comparisons to legendary backs in Brigham Young University (BYU) history. Despite the win, the Cougars still faced challenges with third down defense, penalties, and pass protection. With a bye week ahead, they prepare for a crucial rivalry game against the Utah Utes, offering a chance to refine their strategy.

Join us for an engaging discussion on BYU's path to success and the key factors shaping their season. Don't miss the insights and analysis that could redefine your understanding of the Cougars' journey.

Perfect weekend, it was my birthday on Saturday, and the two best presents that I received, was the cougars winning, and the Utes losing

Watching Ta’ase catch so many TDs this year has been my favorite under the radar thing this year! And he so deserves it, excellent blocks every game

That was quite the upset 😂.

Even BYU fans outnumbered UCF fans mid 3rd quarter.

Those UCF fans really bounced out of the Bounce House.

The last time BYU was 8-0 was 2020, not 2001. The ESPN graphic at the end of the game was wrong. BYU started the 2020 season 9-0.

Excellent all around team win. Go Cougars!

Why does everyone say 2001 was the last time we were 8-0 to start? Weren't we 9-0 to start 2020?

Not only has BYU surpassed every expectation, it has been so fun to see how many breakout stars the program has created this year. Who doesn’t have their favorites: Lassiter, Roberts, Parker, Philips, Marion, Martin, Ropati, Ta’ase, Pay, Mitchell, Etienne, Glasker, Wakley, Kaufusi, Batty, Kelly, Moa, Mangelson, Bagnah, Retzlaff, and even the kickers, Vander Haar and Ferris, who each have pulled off sick fakes. If you are a casual observer like myself, when was the last time you could name linemen off the top of your head? Great team play.

That strip sack was against Ethan Erickson!! A tight end should never be one on one with a D end. The game was awesome!! We are undefeated. I was hoping for 8 win season at best and we have already reached that.

Loved seeing the cougars dominate and get to 8-0. Well done. My only criticism would be finish strong and have a larger point differential may make add them in a ranking argument

I think BYU being underestimated can be a good thing, if it is a great motivation just to play with a chip on your shoulder just to prove the critics wrong. BYU knows how good they are, and they control their own destiny. Just keep winning and they'll find themselves in the college playoffs. It reminds me if their 1984 season when they won the national championship.

The reason BYU is getting slighted by the bookmakers is because Vegas knows they can hedge their bets and shave a touchdown off BYU (and Iowa State). They know there are so many people who think "There are seven SEC teams who would be undefeated in the Big 12" or "BYU and Iowa State would have losing records in the B1G." And Vegas knows those people are emotionally invested in downplaying the conference as a whole and the elite teams at the top of the conference, and they are willing to drop money in chasing that wish.

Sometimes Vegas sets the line according to the expected result; sometimes Vegas sets the line according to how much money they know they can get. BYU is 7-1 against the spread and I expect they will likely finish 10-2 or 11-1 against the spread because people will keep betting their wishes to see BYU flop. And Vegas will let them. Vegas will encourage them. And they only tear down a casino to build a bigger casino.

False starts are inexcusable, I don’t care about offsides penalties though. The defense is being aggressive and trying to get a good jump. Don’t mind it at all

I think BYU regretted not running up the score when UCF called that last time out.
