This loss is a reflection of coaching 100%. This is who Sitake is as a coach. I am not saying he should be fired but I am saying this is what BYU football is under him. We occasionally will upset a team and we will have two or three stinkers where the team just doesn't show up. I can literally think of 4 games off the top of my head where the feeling is the exact same as yesterday (Liberty, Oregon, BSU in 2021, the UAB bowl game). The team just doesn't show up and that is completely on Sitake. How many times are we gonna talk about effort with these BYU teams? The coach's job is to have the team prepared and motivated and BYU constantly shows up unprepared and unmotivated.

I love Sitake. I think he is a great ambassador for BYU football...but that's the problem. All the things people said Sitake would bring with him as head coach at BYU have not happened. Everyone said he would bring a tough defense and good recruiting in the Polynesian community...it hasn't happened. Not only are we continuing to lose more and more talent to Utah, but objectively the recruiting before Sitake was better than it is now (check 247 rankings from 2008-2010), and the defense continues to be stinky. Unfortunately, most people are okay with BYU being decent (hey we made it to a bowl!) and Kalani being the loveable head coach.

Again I think Kalani is a wonderful person and I will continue to root for him, I hope he proves me wrong, but after almost 100 games as coach, we know who he is. It's not about the losses. All coaches lose. It's about how they lose. BYU is almost always the least disciplined team in the game. Poor game management. Bad play calling. At some point can we have an honest conversation about Kalani as the coach of BYU?

When kalani keeps saying he has to do better as a coach, when do we start believing him?

Ugly isn't the word for that performance!!!! If it keeps going like this I would love to see what the back up can do. We are in power conference now. There's no time for feelings and trying to get things fixed every week. If it's not working see what else we have it can't be any worse than 44% completion rate against TCU and the 52% completion rate for the season. It's time to see if the team will rally around Ratliff come out with more intensity and desire. Because if we continue to play the way we are well be lucky to go bowling at 6-6!!!! Where better than this COUGS let's

Reaching 6 wins will be difficult. What a disaster the TCU game was for the Cougars. As bad as the fans feel, the players & coaches fell worse. I hope the team does not develop into a losing attitude. A win next week is critical.

There is not a single game left on the schedule that is winnable for the team that played TCU yesterday. This team is bad, really bad. When I started reading media coverage this week stating stuff like BYU wants to assert themselves and such language, I already knew the outcome. When a team that's bad goes in thinking they might be good, this will be the result every time.

Seems like BYU has a difficult time making in-game adjustments. Amazing how many times TCU threw quick simple slants with defensive backs playing 10 yards off. Looked similar to last year!

They showed TCU coming out of the time out and they were all bouncing and jumping to the music. Then they showed BYU sideline and nothing. Flat, Unprepared, Unmotivated. Apparently BYU is truly a night team.

According to ESPN BYU has no higher then a 38% of winning in any of the remaining Big 12 games remaining. Really feeling worried about how BYU will find 2 more wins to make a bowl game.

Cowboy fan..it appears byu suffered a psychological collapse. They quickly went 14 down again and were not prepared to fight that hard AGAIN. As an independent you could pick your challenges but in confetence play the challenge picks you. Better gear up because TT is coming to town and that freshman QB will probably be ready to play. (My 2¢}

Haha...well coming out and beating Tech may not be all that difficult...they are on their 3rd QB, and he's a True Freshman. Not sure if Morton will be able to go...

Yup. That did suck. The safeties that start are not good. Also play the young guys on the d line. The dline could not get any pressure on that QB.

Totally disagree with just "throwing this game out" that mentality breeds soft weak play. This game should piss players and coaches off, create accountability and make the team want to play with fire. I'd make the team watch the whole game back and remind them that if you come out that flat they'll be boat raced in every remaining game. Disgusting effort in all three phases.

It’s one thing to lose a game that you showed up for. It’s a completely different feeling when the team forgot their game at home on the very first offensive series. I turned the game off after the first quarter. I saw all I needed to know.

Why did we change our aggressive D to drop 8, with little pressure on a freshman QB?

We rattled him on the first series, yet gave up a 3rd and 11(?). After that, it seems we stopped pressuring their QB, allowing him to get comfortable and develop confidence.

Entire script for both sides of LOS were obviously a disaster.

As mych as the offense struggled, I was perhaps more disappointed by the defense (despite injuries).

This is the first time I recall them flat, and not playing with their "hair on fire." I guess I assumed Jay would have them playing hard all season.

Texas Tech is a must win Saturday to reestablish confidence and right the ship for bowl eligibility. There are no freebees left on schedule as Jake mentioned.

Looked like boys trying to play with men! Kedon was the worst I have seen him. He held the ball way to long and when he did pass it was late, a lot! I don't know why the receivers could not get free enough for him to get them the ball. But even great coverage can't stop everything. Coaches and players seemed puzzled on nearly every play, and was the worst on that 4th and 1 we didn't make...

Their are a lot of questions. Did Kevon Slovis hold onto the ball to long because he wasn't seeing the field or were all the receivers were covered. Are BYUs recievers to slow?

I can’t seem to vent enough about this game. If they get to next week and win then I will feel better.

Here's what came to my mind ... "we'll take care of the ass kickin'." 😮

I know most BYu-p fans are totally incapable of seeing this, but nothing is wrong with the koogies ...BYu-p probably wouldn't win the MWC, but making a Bowl Game in the MW' wouldn't be an issue ... all of that is gone now ... that's the biggest difference. BYu-p is fine ...

Frustrating that BYU continues to try to force the run into their game plan. BYU can't run. The game plan should have been throw it 50 times.
