Vice President Kamala Harris told voters they have a chance to chart a "new way forward" as Americans this November, as she looked to introduce herself to voters and prosecute her case against Republican Donald Trump as she accepted her party's nomination Thursday night at the Democratic National Convention.

Harris walked onstage to thunderous applause and a long standing ovation as convention-goers chanted her name, before beginning her remarks.

“Our nation with this election has a precious, fleeting opportunity to move past the bitterness, cynicism, and divisive battles of the past,” Harris said, as she accepted the nomination. “A chance to chart a New Way Forward. Not as members of any one party or faction, but as Americans.”

There is a contradiction here. Palestinian self-determination means the freedom to pursue Israel's destruction. Anyone who has looked at Palestinian opinion through surveys or interviews can see that. Among even the most moderate, there is a sacred "right of return" for half the Palestinians to return to their grand parents or great grandparents homes in Israel. In Palestinian usage, the term "occupation" refers to all of Israel, not just Gaza and the West Bank. You do not see pro-Palestinian demonstrations for a two state solution. You see demonstrations to end zionism.

You cannot be for both Israel's security and Palestinian self-determination. They contradict each other. Maybe someday it will be different, but not in the forseeable future.

So when a Presidential candidate says two things that contradict each other, which one do you believe?
