Only one big negative. When I was a kid, it was automatic. If you graduated from college, you got a lifelong career, got married, owned a home. I've heard this BS since that an education is your key to the Middle Class. It used to be, but now it's BS. Perhaps the worst thing I ever did for my future was to work and pay my own way through a Harvard education.

Cut to the end, we need to make it so people can grow careers where they don't work for anyone but themselves, even without a college degree.

If the most high end brand of college education means less than nothing, if it's a career negative, then obviously our educational goals are not a match for our career goals.
