Avoid this DELAY! Marriage Adjustment of Status.

If you’re about to start your marriage green card, there are numerous mistakes to avoid when adjusting your status! The biggest time waste comes from receiving a request for evidence (RFE) and then wondering what next?

Even hiring an immigration lawyer is no guarantee you won’t receive an RFE. You wouldn’t believe how may immigrant couples reach out saying:

‘’Oh no! I got a request for evidence!!!’’

Only to try to find immigration help on their immigration journey even when already working with an immigration attorney!

The immigration journey can easily come with the most unexpected twists and turns, and this happens way more often than you think, but it doesn't always have to be this way. If you are well prepared to build your marriage green card application, there's nothing to be afraid of.

If you're in the process of getting your green card through adjustment of status from inside the US, this video is for you.

In this video, we will talk about the reasons why you can get a request for evidence and some mistakes to avoid when adjusting your status. We will cover subjects such as Form I-864, taxes and Federal Poverty Guidelines. We will give you problems and solutions, so stay until the end if you want to avoid a time delaying RFE.

From what I understand you need to submit a copy of marriage certificate only for derivative applicants.
If you are the spouse or unmarried child under 21 years of age of a family-based principal applicant. But if you’re principal applicant, you don’t need additional copy of marriage certificate.
It’s only for form I-130.
I’ve checked USCIS instructions and marriage certificate is not required for all
And also in order to add your spouse to your bank account you need to provide your spouse driver license or ID to do joint bank account. And it’s not possible to get Id without social security.
Same thing with the health insurance. You need to provide social and documents and marriage certificate to have joint health insurance. So the information provided in this video in my opinion is incorrect. But I’m not an immigration attorney. It just based on my experience

You mentioned to provide a response online and mail? Would you recommend doing that for form I-130, to submit online and paper?

I am currently in the process of AOS. I left my job in Oct 2023 and entered the US in 2023 just to visit my partner with the idea of going back and looking for a job. However, we decided to get married during my visit and do AOS. Will the fact that I was not working at the time of entry seem suspicious to USCIS when they are looking at our application?
