‘Real concern’: ‘Anti-West movement’ sweeping across the globe

Liberal Senator Alex Antic says there is “real concern” about the “anti-West movement” which is “sweeping” across the world, hidden behind the Israel-Hamas war.

The Coalition is urging the Albanese government to step up when it comes to efforts in the Red Sea.

The US and the UK mounted a series of attacks against the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels who have been disrupting vital commercial shipping waterways.

“It’s a great question – I don’t know the answer to that, but what I do know is you’re absolutely right about … this group and, I think, more broadly, about the premise of some of these incursions,” Mr Antic told Sky News Australia host Caleb Bond.

“What we’re seeing now is a really genuinely anti-West movement we’ve seen sweeping across the globe, and this sort of anti-Western rhetoric that has been hidden around the Gaza war is of real concern.

“The other thing that I’m concerned about about is just simply the fact that we’re in this situation.

“This feels to me very much like something that wouldn’t have happened prior to 2020, and I’ve got to tell you, I don’t think the Trump administration would’ve allowed this to go ahead.”

I’m a migrant from Greece and absolutely love Australia and Australians for the opportunity to work hard and put a roof over my head and my family. We all look forward to Australia Day but what I don’t understand is why our Australian government would bring different cultures to this country then start wars from the cultures they came from. Yesterday a group of 5 people did a home invasion in doncaster then murdered the man when he chased them and I think we all know who they are.
Our current leaders are failing us.
Time to put some new Aussie culture loving politicians like this guy to lead our country before we Australians loose everything.

Good on you, Frank! I thought about a similar idea. Why don't Australians who own an Australian flag fly it on their car tops, or from their rooftops. I will go even further and say that all other flags should be BANNED from being flown in Australia on Australia Day. Only the OFFICIAL FLAG should be flown on that day.

Aldi is a German company. Never understood why Australians are happy to spend money at Aldi only for all company profits to be sent back to Germany. We need Australian companies selling Australian products and employing Australians.
