On My Own [Phantom of the Opera]

About a month ago, I heard this cover of On My Own from Les Misérables by the one and only Miachel Crawford (a.k.a. the original Phantom) and knew that I simply HAD to make a video! I love Michael's voice in this, it's very emotional and vulnerable and I can't help but think he must've thought of Phantom when he did this cover, because the lyrics capture Erik's feelings about Christine so well! In hindsight, I suppose it would have made more sense to just use the musical Phantom productions (the 25th anniversary, the 2004 movie and Love Never Dies), but I really wanted an excuse to edit with the 1990 mini-series, because I love it so much! And I also noticed there are quite a few parallels, like when he's carrying her to the bed and she falls asleep. This isn't perhaps what I wanted it to be, but it's simple and sweet, so I hope you enjoy it even if it's not spectacular XD.

Such a beautiful cover and the editing is wonderful! Every bit really fits, credit to adding in Dance Version and other poignant bits from 25th and 2004. Very tasteful! 😊 I honestly gasped when I saw it was actually Michael Crawford because I was totally thinking that but couldn't believe it! ^^

This was so lovely!🖤🤍 I loved that you included the miniseries in this tribute as it's one of my favorites. I don't see it included too often with the other adaptations, so it was nice to see some recognition for that awesome series! :) I really loved how you edited this one. It's gorgeous and the clips you chose from every adaptation flow beautifully together! Great job! :) This is one of my favorite covers that Michael Crawford has done from other shows. I too can't help but think of the Phantom when I hear him singing it. There is another cover of Michael Crawford's that I love called She Used To Be Mine that reminds me a lot of Phantom, in particular what Erik must have thought when he watched Christine go off with Raoul during the Final Lair. I made an edit with it using the 2004 version of Phantom. Check it out if you'd like (if you haven't seen it already). I'm sure you'll enjoy that song as well. :)
