The purpose of Separation of Church and State is to keep forever from these shores, the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe for centuries." - James Madison

Gov Landry ... instead of banning books in school libraries, the parents could tell the kids not to check them out. Your hypocracy is outstanding and a bit primative.

Separation of church and state. You want your kids to go to a religious school, there are plenty.

"The Ten Commandments is not symbolic of any one particular religion" Are you even listening to yourself??? They are from The Holy Bible. That's the holy book of 'one particular religion'. And if it wasn't, most of the legislaters who voted for it wouldn't have.

... Keep such things in their respective places of worship, NOT in government buildings & public schools

Parents can take their children to church to learn commandments and religion. They don't need a school to do that. And everyone isn't the same faith. I bet theae same people would pitch a fit if someone wanted to put up Qurans commandments, Hindu beliefs etc. it would sure be an issue for them them.

The amount of Russian Provocateur accounts on here supporting this theocratic move is ridiculous.

They need to focus on actually educating the students.
Aren't they last in education?😢

they are not bothered by and support this because its THEIR religion. Imagine their outcry if a different religion was able to post beliefs in schools.

Imagine the outcry from the self righteous if the Wiccan Rede was in schools.

Desperation to their theocracy efforts. The constitution clearly has a seperation of church and state or shall not force religion on anyone .... THAT is what the fuss is about.

Louisiana is a theocracy. Look at theocracies around the world and ask yourself why anybody would want that? Have your religion, whatever it is. But don't force it on other people, respect their right to choose their own beliefs. That is an American founding principle.

The ten commandments are derived from the Old Testament, so in essence they are a Jewish tenet. Now, with that said, why go thru the expenditure of time and monies to place it in schools if it is a common every day life text? Religion, as well as ideas, should not be imposed but rather taught.

Separation of church and state. This stuff does not belong in schools. They have church for that.

The fuss is about the separation of church and state and using government funds and mandates to promote one religion over others. THAT'S the fuss. Like it or not, you're violating The Constitution
