Ok, for all those who are thinking they just "can't do it", I'm 62 and just starting. Bucket list sort of thing. I've always thought "there's just no way" I can ever learn to play the guitar.

Nate Savage's First Guitar Lesson for Beginners is presented in a such a kind, positive, supportive way that I feel comfortable from the beginning. So, I'm in the process of going from a "can't do it" to "maybe I can" to "YES, I CAN do it". For me it's a process of learning self-discipline, which is not necessarily one of my strong points. All I'm trying to say here is that if I can give it a shot, so can you.

The added value for me is that I have to focus focus focus and practice practice practice so it gets me out of my head, and all that "white noise" of life. I can't express how grateful I am to you Nate for your time to pass your talent on to us---talent to play, talent to teach. You've given me one of the most valuable things one person can give another: HOPE.

So this is long-winded and some people will think it's sappy, but for me it's important that we just try to help each other make it though this thing called life. Ok, yeah I' grew up in the late '60's in case you couldn't tell.

I’m 79 and bought my first guitar last Friday. Needless to say this last week has been tough on the fingertips and some arthritis in finger #2 doesn’t help in making chords. Great video helps to motivate the learning process.

Thank you, this helps a lot. I’m picking up a guitar for the first time at age 42. Because my son age 10 started guitar lessons and I thought it something that We can do together. 😊

I’ve been playing for a year. I’m self taught, and I never have had a lesson. Just thought it would be fun to see what it looks like.

Nate, thanks for the encouragement and practical application. I am an absolute beginner. I'm 54 years old, and I have made a goal of learning to play passable blues by age 60. I am not a performer by nature. I see this as a form of exercise for my mind and body, not a career path. So I just got my guitar today, and let the pain begin...
(Thanks)

so I`ve been a drummer for six years or so, now decided to pick up the guitar. 10 mins in and my fingers are burning like hell. This is going to be a journey

I started group lessons last week and am a true beginner (57 years young) I have watched 2 of these videos and am extremely impressed and how thoroughly Nick explains everything in an easily understandable format. Great instructions!

Thanks for this. I'm 27 and always wanted to learn how to play. I'm picking up my first guitar soon, maybe I've left it a little late but hey, if you never try right.

I've been playing piano my whole life and wanted to start some other instrument and this is the best thing I've come across. I recommend this for anyone that has never used a guitar. Thanks!

I’m 61, picking my very first guitar. I’m a very tired nurse, trying to be distracted. This is doing it, but man... I feel really dumb and uncoordinated so far.

Here in 2019! I recently bought a First Act guitar, picked up at Goodwill for $4.99. It's child size, and compact enough to keep in the back seat of my car. I own an electric guitar, but since I'm still learning, I want to have a guitar with me anywhere I am so I can get to know the strings and frets and the notes they help create. Until now, I've relied on my ability to pick things up by ear, but I found this video and was amazed at how quickly I could learn these chords and play them back by memory, even hours after watching the video. I'm cheap, I enjoy learning how to do things on my own, preferably for free. Which is why I bought that cheap little guitar. And that's why I'm so grateful for this channel! My dream of learning to play music has begun.

And to all of you who are watching this and are taking your first steps, don't give up! Think of how much better life is with music, and how lucky we are to have this knowledge base available to us. Do your future self a favor, and pick up your guitar, and start learning those chords.

It is great to see many beginners at the age 40+. I never thought I will try it for real. But, now I am in . Feel confident that I could as well, as I see many of my age. Nate does a wonderful lesson and makes it simple to give the beginners the much needed confidence...Well done Nate. Thanks Buddy...
