Starship Flight 8 - The NSF Views

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, SpaceX launched Starship Flight 8. Booster 15 and Ship 34 blasted towards the skies. Booster 15 completed a successful return to launch site and was caught by the chopsticks. Ship 34 experienced a rapid unscheduled disassembly and was lost.

The fact that the space community can take such fantastic shots from so many different angles. It is an access that is just not possible at the Cape or Vandenberg. But you also have to give a lot of credit to SpaceX on their openness. The livestream video from all their rockets, the released photos after (Hey Jack, when are you going to get one of those beneath-the-nozzles cameras?) as well as the informative tweets. One doesn't realize how spoiled we are until we see something like BO's New Glenn flight and realize all the coverage we're missing.

Thank god I have good audio and thank god for NSF excellent footage to watch. I might not be there for real to feel sound pressure but I'm in my own comfort zone at home. It's wild hearing BANG BANG as the raptor fire up for a catch. See the booster hot stage, flip around and glide towards the tower at insane speed. It's incredible!

its incredibly amazing how the NSF team as well as SpaceX have grown in the past, its amazing the work everyone did, D with the slo-mo, Das with thr mid renge and Jack with the close ups... woth every peny of that rental. the guys at the ground with their engine views and the amazing work of the production and editing team, y'all are truly amazing. So over the top BONKERS! Amazing footage from everyone, but I think D Wise gets the win for those spectacular slow mo and tracking shots, with Das a close second for his insane tracking shots.
