7. Boiling Lake of Dominica
This appears to be a lake from the devil himself! One of the world’s hottest and most intense lakes out there that you definitely don’t want to swim at, is the boiling lake in the country of Dominica. These aren’t the kind of hot springs you’d find in tourist brochures! It’s filled with a bubbling grey blue water that is normally hidden because of the large clouds of water vapor. This mysterious lake formed from a crack or hole in the earth’s crust which is in the direct vicinity of an active volcano. Temperatures at the edge of the lake are roughly 190 degrees while the center of the lake is boiling meaning over 212 degrees. The air around the lake is quite steamy as you can imagine and it reeks of sulphur! There have been reports of people just getting close enough to where the mist from the lake will cause severe burns
6. Morning Glory Pool, Wyoming
In case you thought it was only man made structures that are colorful, think again! The colors on this hot spring. The strange colors of this pool are caused by a large variety of bacteria that live here. After an earthquake, this pool has the potential to turn into a geyser. It’s believed that this was actually more colorful at some point but people began throwing trash into it and slightly altered its appearance.

Don’t forget about the freshwater stingrays, electric fish, and the possibility of contracting a flesh eating virus! There are just a slew of nasty animals who would enjoy nothing else but to inflict all kinds of harm on you! So don’t take that chance”!
