When MMA and Street Fighting Collide

It’s no secret that MMA is trained fighting and street fighting, more often than not, is just dudes who played a UFC video game once or twice and think they’re the second coming of Chuck Liddell(he’s not dead, but that’s their mindset).

In this video, we’re going to be looking at instances where MMA and street fighting collide in one way or another. Whether it’s actual fighters vs brawlers or MMA in a street fight, this is what happens when MMA and street fighting collide!

It's so refreshing seeing a channel actually giving credits to the original posters of the content.

One thing I will say is jujitsu is pretty good against a single fighter but if you have more than one opponent, you can get locked up with one while the other person beats on you. You need to be a fully rounded fighter to survive a real street fight

That headbutt victory was from no rules KOTS (King Of The Streets) and they’re generally all trained fighters. It takes legit balls to enter into those fights : held on concrete (getting starched can get you killed), no gloves, no rules : You are permitted to soccer kick a downed opponent in the head (plus biting, eye gouging, even grabbing nuts is allowed). That “tornado kick” (LMAO) almost got his foot badly broken. That so-called “boxer” vs Jiu Jitsu isn’t skilled in any boxing techniques that I’ve extensively trained in over the years.
Edit : That kimono wearing round-house to the chin was helped by his opponent’s guard being held down around his hips.

There is basically no street fighting in this video. Street fighting the intent is to send the other guy to the hospital or kill him. This is just untrained fighters vs trained fighters in cage matches. Not the same, not relevant or reflective on what would happen in an actual fight.

Loved it. I'm 66 yrs old & watching this made me want to start training again. 20 yrs ago I was a 3rd Dan in TKD. No where near that now.

I studied Aikido a bit. Basically it taught you how to break holds, do simple throws, and, most importantly, how to fall. I didn't get deeply into it but when I got in a bicycle accident, learning how to fall saved me from serious injury.

I have a black belt in aikido, trained with really high ranking masters (my sensei was a 7th dan I think), good men with real experience. Even they aknowledge that even if Aikido is an amazing martial art, it's not gonna win street fights alone. We never sparred (big ass problem), and we always trained without much risk, which is not super effective in terms of combat training. Still, I love aikido, it's taught me many things not just on a physical level but mentally too. (And you could never hold my wrist still unless you're eddie hall or something. Kind of a useless skill but pretty fun)

I trained for many years Tang Soo Do lots of high kicking, but I've never consider it a smart move in a real fight. No need to kick above the waste line.

Street Beefs is like flipping a coin with some really awful/ pitiful fights but there are some good ones in there that will surprise you

Very interesting video, thanks. The one thing to mention though, is that a real streetfighter, on the street, will not square up with you. They will hit you with a sucker punch or a blindside punch before you even know the fight is on. They may also have weapons, and/or friends nearby.

The headbutt is also a weapon used in sambo, its pretty efficient in clinches.

I was there when Patty came by Pendleton but I was swamped with work that day and couldn’t go see him. The crazy part is that he was LITERALLY down the hall from me! In the same building 😭
