An investment in a depreciating asset, that's a pretty slick line.

Motor Trend certified vehicles are the worst vehicles you can purchase. The inspection is a joke if even done at all. The vehicles come straight from the auction just like all the rest. Minimal done to them if anything at all. Don’t fall for this people. It’s a scam. Reputable dealers will not be Motor Trend dealers. This is just a loop hole so they can call it a “certified” vehicle. Buy elsewhere.

Reconditioning a used car for resale by a dealer is a dealer cost and, as such, is included in the asking price of the vehicle. Reconditioning costs are included in the KBB price recommendations for used vehicles.

Advertising a price and then springing a $2, 000 reconditioning cost only when the customer arrives at the dealership is clearly deceptive advertising. This should immediately result in the customer walking as it is a clear indication he or she is at a less than ethical car dealership.

And the reality is today's auto paint is far better than it was back in 1978.

Baiting people with a price on the internet and then adding $2K when they get there is a lousy business practice! I would walk away. Better to list the price on the internet and then have a disclaimer that the MT program is an additional $2K. THAT is transparency.
