I have loved this since I was a kid.
We used melted strawberry or apricot jam thinned with a little water for the glaze (in the ‘70’s; the Recipe was big deal when it came out; fancy for us, but pretty easy).

Thank you for your questions. Orange zest is the thin outside rind of an orange - just the orange part, without the pith. It adds great flavor to the pizza. If you want, you can leave it out.

This is wonderful! It brought the largest price at a dessert auction fund raiser for our youth group last year. I also like to spread a layer of apple butter under the fruit. It looks more like pizza sauce this way. Yum!

I'm so making one of these on the first... But instead of cool whip I use marshmallow cream and add a little vanilla extract and instead of the sauce I glaze the arranged fruit with melted orange or apricot preserves
