Thanks for showing the ez-lock installation. It seems to be less commonly used, but I already have an ez-lock strainer so I want to use it.

Great video! The installation tips are really clear and helpful. As someone from the stainless steel sink manufacturing side, I can see how these small details make a big difference. Thanks for sharing such useful content!

Thank you for this hugely informative video! I discovered a few mistakes I made on installation before I even turned the water on! (mainly under tightening and insufficient putty).

Excellent video.

#2 I don't like, need a paper washer before the black washer to stop the black washer from bunching up.

thank you, we are in a situation where we added a tailpiece in between the strainer and the p trap for the dishwasher to hook up, now the p trap is about 1/2 '' too far from connecting to the drain. have you ever seen a very shallow strainer, say 1.5'' high? to help give more clearance

Thank you! I didn't realize the deep basket version didn't use a friction ring and uses a foam seal instead of putty 😒. I assume I can use putty and buy a friction ring(?)

You should approach Rona Canada to do "how to plumbing" videos

Hi I keep seeing people use putty on the deep basket strainer you showed. They said it's better. I have that type of strainer. It looks very similar to the one you have here but mine is plastic on the underside of the lip of the strainer basket. The part where the putty would go is plastic but the strainer underneath it is stainless steel. Is it okay to use the plumber's putty on this part? I have regular putty that says don't use on plastic. I'm so confused how people are using putty there if it says not to on plastic. Or is it fine because it has the metal underneath?

What brand are the ones with the grey PVC parts? Have not seen those at Rona

How come the second one, deep base strainer, does not need putty or silicon? The part that attaches to the sink looks exactly like the ones that come after. Thank you sir

Can I assume the video is from Canada from the Toonie coin shown?

A video the wall at Rona with different brass adapters with terms like OD, ID, MIP, etc.

Or a video picking the correct shut off valve based on pipe size/type. The different meaning of 5/8 compression fitting that works with a 1/2" copper pipe and the hose size to faucet says 3/8".
