The 2023 Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo is an embodiment of luxury and performance in an electric station wagon format. As an alternative to the electric Taycan sedan, the Sport Turismo offers a more spacious back seat and additional cargo space. The wagons are equipped with dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrains, with the horsepower ranging up to 750 in the Turbo S variant. For 2023, Porsche has enhanced the Taycan Sport Turismo with an updated battery and charging algorithm, which not only increases the range but also speeds up the charging process. The infotainment display has been revamped, now featuring a more vibrant and faster user interface, wireless Android Auto, and a system that can locate charging stations based on their output.

The Taycan Sport Turismo's performance is nothing short of exhilarating. It's powered by two electric motors, with the total output varying between 469 and 750 horsepower, depending on the chosen model. A unique feature of the Taycan is its two-speed transmission on the rear axle, a first for electric vehicles. This transmission played a pivotal role during testing, allowing the Taycan Turbo S to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds, placing it among the fastest cars ever tested.

For the 2023 model year, the Taycan wagon has seen an improvement in its range. The Taycan 4 Cross Turismo offers the most range with an EPA-rated 235 miles, marking a 20-mile increase from the previous year. The Taycan GTS and Turbo Cross Turismo models both have an EPA-estimated range of 233 miles. Interestingly, real-world tests have shown that the Porsche electric vehicles tend to be more efficient than their official ratings suggest.

In terms of fuel economy, the Taycan Sport Turismo has a slightly lower MPGe rating compared to its sedan counterpart. The base Taycan 4 Cross Turismo and GTS Sport Turismo are rated at 80 MPGe by the EPA, while the high-performance Turbo S Cross Turismo achieves an estimated 75 MPGe.

Inside, the Taycan Sport Turismo boasts a blend of Porsche's sports-car heritage and modern high-tech elements. The wagon offers a plethora of luxury amenities and a wide array of customization options. Whether you opt for the standard four-seat configuration or the optional five-seat setup, the Sport Turismo ensures ample headroom, especially in the rear, thanks to its standard panoramic sunroof and elevated roofline. The wagon also provides more cargo space in the rear compared to its sedan counterpart.

The infotainment and connectivity features of the Taycan are seamlessly integrated into the Sport Turismo model. The cabin is adorned with a curved digital gauge cluster, a 10.3-inch central touchscreen, and an 8.4-inch vertically mounted touchscreen on the center console. Porsche also offers an optional 10.3-inch passenger-side touchscreen. Other notable features include wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto compatibility, built-in navigation, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
