Origins takes place in 1979 and in X1 and 2 it’s mentioned that it’s been 15 years since Logan went looking for his past, meaning that X1 and X2 can’t take place that far apart and that they may actually be set in 1994.

Peter Evans Quicksliver definitely stole the show in this movie, though in terms of character the actors for magneto and Charles were the foundation for the movie. The side stuff with cyclops and Jane could've been written better I think, looking back on retrospect.

Last Stand was bad but in my personal ranking it's higher than Dark Phoenix and New Mutants. I also wouldn't recommend skipping it because Logan's character arc in The Wolverine is all about overcoming Jean's death. So if you watch The Wolverine without seeing Last Stand it won't make sense. If it's your first time watching the series watch everything even the bad ones. The only X-Men movie I'd say you could 100% skip is New Mutants. It was a backdoor to a New Mutants trilogy that didn't happen because of the Disney buy-out, the Logan foreshadowing was in one scene that had little to do with the rest of the movie, and it's such a nothing movie for the first 50 minutes. I haven't seen it since I first watched it. I want to marathon the movies again but New Mutants is the only one I actively do not want to watch again. I can force myself through the bad ones like Dark Phoenix and Origins because the characters are so important to me and I love this film franchise. I'll watch Dark Phoenix just to see Cyclops do something plot relevant but, I never read a issue of New Mutants. The only character I hold to the same reverance is Magik because I read a run with her as a member of the main X-Men team. They never even try to connect her to Deadpool seeing how Magik is Colossus' sister in the comics.

I also made the mistake of seeing Deadpool 2 before Logan and I got spoiled so release order is the best order.

Another thing is Dark Phoenix writing out Quicksilver was the most infuriating thing. If I wasn't in the theatre I would've audibly groaned in frustration and New Mutants did nothing with Magik my favorite secondary X-Men character which was equally upsetting.
