It's so painfull to see him there, after seeing him on Band Of Brothers, giving his quote that gave the series it's name...

I worked with Carwood “Buck” Lipton at Owens-Illinois Glass Company. He was an engineer at a glass plant, had a deferment, yet joined the army as a private. Advanced to sergeant, then lieutenant. Very soft-spoken, self-assured, humble man. Never knew of his WWll life until Band of Brothers. Buck was a consultant to Steve Ambrose, who sent every chapter of the book to Buck for review and critique.

Several of my family are buried there, it's an honor to have grown up In the eastern KY/WV where you can see the hardy lifestyles that breed men like Lipton, and my Great Grandfather and Great Uncle who served in both U.S. theatres.

It’s wild to think that my grandpa knew him having served with him at the BOTB. I wish I had seen the show before he passed away.
