*Even though the apes participate in periodic tooth-brushing and receive veterinary dental care, some of them have darkened teeth from tannins in the large amount of browse (leaves and trees branches) they chew and consume... their teeth may look bad, but they're in good condition and the apes get the best care possible at the sanctuary :)
