I think the presentation is really good. The guy didn't really have one statement on love. On the other hand, the lady is actually reporting description and opinion of what love is and should be by many thinkers. In the end, however, she gave a really profound statement on what kind of love we need. You should skip to the end at 22:00 if you quickly want to know.

Love is the state in which one sees things as they decidedly are not.

Really interesting video.... The title will likely miss its audience by being slightly misleading. Devorah Baum gives a great talk. But all of this is kinda at a graduate psychology seminar level. Might be good to indicate this...

Love isn't a feeling. It is distinct from attraction or need. When all the people you care about and have oxytocin bonding with are gone, when you are dead inside and ambivalent to the world around you you can still choose love for even strangers. Love is a choice of characteristic qualities based on certain premises of belief which embody concepts of empathy.

I like this talk, but how does one feel love so as to not get Bogged down by questions like why are we here, where are we going, etc? I get so philosophical all the time it is annoying.

How to attain the feeling being in a state like falling in love without actually being in love?

Love is an ambiguous word used when you lack the ability to more accurately describe a situation, relationship or feeling.

Quick segue to some great stuff a la kohut re narcissism and the need for love. A bit abstract for most audiences though...

the dude gave a great speech and the woman spoiled the presentation.

This video was surprisingly unhelpful and nowhere near what I thought it was going to talk about. What they're talking about isn't all that relevant to how I think of love.

Bad move to start with referencing one of the sadly most manipulative, abusive, harmful gurus of the 20th century. He was indeed eloquent, but it might be worth spending a minute on wiki.

I didn't like the woman she just sounded like one endless poem

After the man talked, the woman really sounded like "i don't know anything."
